Daloy Kayumanggi - Filipino Newspaper in Japan

My friend Mark and I were featured in a Filipino newspaper in Japan about our Koganecho Bazaar Experience.

Many thanks to Jong Pairez for the feature.

Koganecho Bazaar Installation

This is the installation I did in one of the rooms in my studio.
I was lucky that the sun comes in this window. This piece is inspired by the warmth
of the community in Koganecho that I will forever cherish.

I especially want to thank Hiroshi Fuji who has been very kind in sharing with me his toys for this installation.

My Koganecho Sari-sari store

The view from outside, with the bench so people can sit and be "tambay's"
Inside the store with friends who visited.
I love it when kids visit the store!

Piece for Cityzening at the UP Vargas Museum

I am part of Project Glocal and for this leg of the exhibit, I made a suitcasefilled with small objects with divisions like a doll house and objects that can be found in a house too. My work is a reflection of how we are all citizens of the world, and wherever we are regardless of race or country, we meet kind people who nurture us and treat us as family or who'll make us feel at home. It's as if all that we need to survive really can fit into a suitcase.

Title: At Home
Year: 2012 (The exhibition happened while I was away from home)
Material: Toys in a suitcase
